At the Pflanzstelle
Neuerburgstr. 19, 51103 Köln-Kalk

This workshop explores the intertwined relationships between skin, soil, and identity. Participants will engage in a collective transformation process by repurposing old garments, symbolising the shedding of layers and the regeneration of self.

Participants are asked to bring an old piece of clothing made from natural fibres (e.g. cotton, linen) that they no longer use.

This workshop will have a follow-up in early November (date TBD).

For ages 12 and up
Led by Maiella Di Donato and Andrea Righetto
German and/or English depending on participants

Maiella Di Donato’s work is anchored in experimentation, developing methods always using the mediating power of materials. By focusing on individual situated phenomena, she aims to recognise, represent and reshape structural and systematic patterns. This approach is guided by a critical lens that focuses on ecological and social justice.

Andrea Righetto is an Eco-Social Designer, focusing on situated practices of care in the field of environmental sustainability through participatory processes.
His projects explore the transformative potential of existing practices, objects, and spaces by creating new narratives co-generated with involved communities. His research interests include environmental education and engaging citizens in addressing biodiversity loss.
